In Pilsen, an emblematic district of Chicago, the plural face of the city, enriched by Latin American immigration, is fully revealed. Mexican artists, through their creations, were major players in the civic struggles of the 1960s and inspired the Chicano muralist movement of the 70s and 80s. This exhibition is presented as an artistic exploration of the turbulent journeys of forced migration, while celebrating the desire to shape one’s own destiny. Through engravings and multimedia resources, it illustrates the dissemination of images and ideas that still resonate today with the issues of social and environmental justice.
