Researcher at the Universidad de Sevilla. Previously, he was a researcher at CHAM – NOVA FCSH, UNL, and a postdoctoral fellow at the Universidade Federal do Pará, Brazil (2017–2018). He holds a PhD from Universidad Pablo de Olavide (2016), in co-affiliation with the University of St Andrews. He served as Editor-in-Chief of Americanía. Revista de Estudios Latinoamericanos, published by Universidad Pablo de Olavide, from 2014 to 2023. His research focuses on ethnohistory, colonial history, and the history, identities, and heritage of Amazonia. He is the author of El Martirio de Laureano Ibáñez: Guerra y religión en Apolobamba, siglo XVII (La Paz, 2011), and has published articles in international journals, including Ethnohistory and Revista de História.

Full professor and researcher in the Department of American History and the Institute of Latin American Studies (I.E.A.L.) at the University of Seville. He holds a PhD in American History from the University Pablo de Olavide (2004) and a specialization in the History and Criticism of Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (2000). His research focuses on Latin American urban history and heritage management, with particular attention to labor systems involved in the construction of fortifications and public works in urban centers of Hispanic America during the 18th and 19th centuries—including the role of Indigenous populations.

PhD candidate in American History at the University of Seville. He holds a Master’s degree in American Studies (2019) and a Master’s in Secondary Education, with a specialization in Geography and History (2021). His research focuses on the northern Peruvian Amazon, examining the agency of ethnic groups in frontier regions, with particular emphasis on the Awajún and Matsés peoples. He has undertaken academic stays in Peru and led several cultural initiatives—most notably Ruta Inti, which was awarded Spain’s Best Cultural Project in 2019 by the Charlemagne Youth Prize.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Seville (1999) and a Master’s in the History of the Americas from Pablo de Olavide University (2001), where he also completed his PhD in 2007, receiving the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Previously, he taught at Pablo de Olavide University and was a member of the Academic Committee for the Master’s and Doctoral Programme in Latin American History – Indigenous Worlds. His research focuses on the history of slavery during the Age of Revolutions, with research stays in Cuba, the UK, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, and Puerto Rico.

Associate Professor in the Department of Latin American History and the Institute of Latin American Studies (IEAL) at the Universidad de Sevilla. She holds a PhD in Latin American History from the University Pablo de Olavide (Extraordinary Doctorate Award, 2010). Her research explores indigenous societies in the colonial Andes, focusing on their relationship with the environment, natural resources, and native authorities’ roles in adaptation and resistance. A former Fulbright Fellow at Harvard University’s Peabody Museum, she now coordinates the Master’s in American Studies and serves on the editorial board of Anuario de Estudios Americanos.
