Indigenous Knowledges are crucial in addressing critical global issues like:

  • Climate change
  • Loss of biocultural diversity
  • The rise of xenophobic nationalisms

This moment in history requires a shift towards multi-centered thinking—bringing together Indigenous and academic expertise.

Universities and academic institutions are key players in knowledge creation, education, and policy.

EDGES actively works to respectfully advance Indigenous knowledges into:

  • Research
  • Teaching
  • Policy-making

Through innovative, collaborative methodologies, and new strategies for the entanglement of Indigenous knowledges in academic and policy institutions.

Although there have been efforts to engage with Indigenous knowledges, these efforts remain local, fragmented, and not structurally transformative.

The limitations of multiculturalism and interculturality have made this clear. So, how can we develop new, effective entanglements of knowledges that draws from different epistemologies?

EDGES addresses this question through six analytical layers with the significant participation of:

The project aims to create a pluralistic, multi-scale approach to knowledge production, research, and dissemination, through:
